The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of San Antonio (GSPCSA) is an American Kennel Club (AKC) sanctioned and licensed organization dedicated to promoting the well-being and versatility of the German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) breed. Unlike private hunting or training-only clubs, GSPCSA offers a comprehensive environment for members to engage in various activities, events, and training opportunities.​

Club Facilities and Events

Lease of Grounds: GSPCSA leases grounds specifically for hosting AKC-sanctioned events, as well as other club activities. These facilities are also available for Lease Members to train their dogs in a structured and supportive environment.

175$Every yearLease Access for Approved Club MembersÂ- This is for access to the Weston Ranch Foundation Grounds

Membership Overview
1. General Membership

Application Process: Individuals interested in joining GSPCSA must first apply for general membership. This involves submitting an application and meeting the club’s requirements to be voted in. Each month, the Board will review any new applicants, and vote on their application to be admitted. If, for whatever reason, an applicant is rejected, a full refund will be issued.

General Membership Fee: Separate from Lease Membership fees

Requirements: Detailed in the membership application, encompassing commitment to the club’s values and participation in events. Members are also required to complete the Lease Indemnity Form

2. Lease Membership

Eligibility: Only individuals who have been successfully voted into general membership are eligible to apply for Lease Membership.

Application Process: After becoming a general member, individuals can apply for Lease Membership by agreeing to the specific terms and conditions associated with leasing the club grounds.

Lease Membership Responsibilities:

Work Days: Participate in designated workdays to maintain the grounds and support club activities.

Bird Care: Assist in taking care of the birds used in training and events.

Orientation: New Lease Members must complete a Lease Orientation program before being granted access to the grounds and bird pens. This ensures understanding of responsibilities and proper use of facilities.

Access and Security: Upon completion of orientation, Lease Members receive the combination to the grounds and bird pens, granting them authorized access.

Compliance: Use of the club grounds is contingent upon adhering to the Lease Rules & Regulations.

Availability: These rules are provided to new Lease Members during orientation and are also posted on the grounds for ongoing reference.

Responsibilities: Lease Members are expected to maintain the integrity of the facilities, participate in upkeep activities, and ensure that all club and AKC standards are upheld during events and training sessions.
